We have used the services of John MacNamara and BCM for our hotel group cost reduction program since 2010.

Some of the costs targeted were in the area of cleaning materials, stationary and financial charges among others. One of our concerns in the process was the long term relationships that we had with our current suppliers listing and the – fear of moving to new suppliers. John and his team completely understood where we were coming from and since then we have saved at least €100,000 from our cost base whilst still largely dealing with the same supplier base.

I engaged Business Cost Management to review our overheads and identify savings. The project resulted in. significant savings in several categories including telecommunications, electricity, office supplies, chemicals and mineral water. The savings were achieved through negotiations with existing suppliers, the introduction of new suppliers, streamlining our ordering procedure and introducing strategies for eliminating unnecessary charges.

The project ran smoothly and was considered successful as there were no financial risks for the Leinster Leader since BCM operates on a “No Foal ~ No Fee” basis and was paid a percentage of saving. Moreover, quality levels were not affected and all savings were quantifiable.

BCM adopted a professional approach in dealing with our suppliers and staff and was quite unobtrusive both when gathering data and when implementing savings.
